School Is In Session
Summer is gone and the kids are back in school trying to prepare
themselves for the future. For technology workers, the only thing certain of
the future is there will be change. The need to stay educated is critical for
anyone wishing just to keep up. Fortunately there are plenty of options
available.
The best practices for Service Management have been collected and
released to the general public in the ITIL books. Having best practices isn’t
always enough. We are here to bring folks like you together. ItSMF USA promotes
the adoption of ITIL by reaching out and creating opportunities for
practitioners, experts and vendors to get together and share solutions. We have
multiple meetings each month for October and November in the greater Los
Angeles area and the National Fusion Conference is next week in Washington
DC.
Calling All Volunteers!
Are you looking for the opportunity to get involved in the local
itSMF USA interest group? Now is the perfect time. From now through the end of
October, we are looking for people who would like to join our board of
volunteers. All board positions are two years with one half of the board
elected each year. If you are looking to develop your leadership skills, are
passionate about spreading ITIL or simply want to build your network of
contacts, you have found the right place.
Elections will be during the first three weeks of November and the
new terms begin December 1st. Anyone interested in submitting their name for
our ballot should send an email to elections@gla-itsmfusa.org by October 24th.
The following positions will be on the ballet this year:
• Area Vice President – Orange County
• Area Vice President – Los Angeles
• Area Vice President – San Fernando Valley
• Vice President – Vendor Relations
• Treasurer
• Events Chair
• Membership Chair
If you have any questions, simply contact Donna Holt at elections@gla-itsmfusa.org.
Christmas Party!
Save the date, December 1, 2011. We will be
hosting our annual Christmas party at the Magic Castle again in Hollywood. Last
year’s event was such a hit that we just had to repeat it again this year. We
are busy lining up a Service Management Rock Star for our keynote address. For
now, mark your calendars and watch upcoming emails for more details.
